Leading private airline in Africa’s second largest red metal producer, Proflight Zambia just added the Solwezi – Ndola – Johannesburg route to its international connections. This is a very key route for the airline as mining executives in the Copperbelt of Africa situated in the North Western part of Zambia will now be able to travel to Johannesburg from Solwezi which is less tedious than before.

“It’s a 4 hour flight departing Solwezi at 06:30hrs on Wednesdays and Fridays arriving Johannesburg on the 50-seater CRJ jet aircraft at 10:35am with the return flight departing Johannesburg at 11:40am, arriving getting Solwezi at 3:40pm,” Sales and Marketing Manager Barbara Namwila said.

Proflight continues to gear up for increased competition in the Zambian market with the likes of Mahogany Air and Royal Air Charters. Zambia Airways the national airline is set to fly the Zambian skies in Q4:19 or Q1:20. The government has made significant investments in its airport infrastructure totaling just under a billion dollars for its Kenneth Kaunda and Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe international airports that will make it a regional transport hub and will create employment for many through the hotels and activity around the airports when fully functional.
