In a stop press release, premier and private airline Proflight Zambia in Africa’s second largest red metal hotspot has increased its flights to Johannesburg as Africa’s carrier South African Airways grounded it regional operations following COVID19 disease pandemic. Proflight Zambia announced on 21 March that it will be increasing the number of flights to Johannesburg via Lusaka to absorb the demand from the travel disruption SAAs decision would have caused.
Zambia enjoys fair share of business and trade with South Africa to the extent that suspending flight services will have adverse effects on commerce which the local carrier has stepped up to mitigate and leverage off. Proflight is committed to partnering with Zambia’s tourism industry as it flies to key destinations that allow ferrying of passengers to tourist hotspots.
On 20 March, the private owned airline reassured its clients through implementation of a hygiene and safety policy that would allow for flexibility in ticketing and zero fee cancellations while simultaneously enabling safe flights to regional destinations in this disease pandemic era.
