Despite the current economic posture of Africa’s second largest copper producer, Zambia, marred by rising debt, spiralling inflation and currency woes, the two Co – Managing Partners continue to discern opportunity signalled by decade forecasts of $15,000/MT red metal prices driven by Greenfield projects such as the electric car era that will spur base metal demand, rising appetite for green bonds for sustainability financing options as capital markets evolve and a digitisation boom whose appetite has been bulldozed by pandemic times, suffice to say Zambia is at a critical stage as it gears up for economic recovery in the labyrinth of debt restructure and ongoing talks with the Washington based lender, the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Sakuwaha and Chanda continue to see deal influx for Zambia as the economy continues to attract investment opportunity.
