To that effect, the Economic Association of Zambia has been on a series of aggressive road shows building momentum to get as many business houses involved. The response has been overwhelming.

The economic think tank, on 05 March got a big strong reliable endorsement when the largest indigenous financial institution, Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZNCB) nodded the July 25-26 event that focuses on the Future of Economic Diplomacy – Supporting Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development in Africa.

L-R: EAZ Executive Director Ms. Mirriam Nachilima, EAZ National Secretary Mr. Mutisunge Zulu, Zanaco Chief Executive Office Henk Mulder, EAZ President Dr. Lubinda Haabazoka, Zanaco Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Lishala Situmbeko, EAZ Vice President Dr. Austen Mwange.

During a courtesy call visit, the Association discussed various economic issues ranging from banking to financial markets, with key members of the banks C- suite. Bank Chief Executive Officer Henk Mulder and his Chief Commercial Officer Lishala Situmbeko shared notes with the Association Board led by its President Dr. Haabazoka.

The Association learnt and appreciated that ZNCB was the only bank in Zambia will an fully fledged in-house dedicated economics research unit and will not rely on any other research but its own. Bank CCO shared some of the successes, strengths and hurdles the bank is facing.

Association President, Dr. Haabazoka encouraged Zanaco to widen its regional presence because it had the capacity. He further appreciated the expanse/presence of the bank in rural areas and further suggested potential incentives for such banks to further incentivise financial inclusivity.
